BOILER

Is the problem ...

The boiler is not working ?

Guidance:

Check the water pressure gauge, most boilers will stop working if the pressure drops too far. If necessary, increase the water pressure using the filling loop as you were shown at handover. If this is the case, this is not a defect, but household maintenance. If, however the water pressure is within the ‘green’ zone of the gauge, then report this as a defect.
REMEMBER: Servicing your boiler is your responsibility. Failure to maintain annual service checks can reduce the life of the system and invalidate any warranty (refer to the service label on the boiler).

The boiler will produce heating but no hot water ?

Guidance:

Check that you have set your programmer correctly – if the heating works then the boiler is functioning correctly – most likely the programmer is not set up correctly. If this is the case, this is not a defect, but household maintenance. If you are satisfied that the programmer is correctly set-up, then report this as a defect.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Useful checklist

If you have just moved in, here are some important reminders:

APPLIANCE WARRANTIES

Don't forget to complete all of the warranty cards for your fitted electrical appliances. Keep a copy and send them off to the manufacturer. Should you ever need to report a fault, you know they will have proof of your cover.

BOILER SERVICE

WATER AND GAS SHUT-OFF VALVE

Make sure you (and other responsible members of the household) know where to find the shut-off valves for water supply and (if applicable) gas.

METER READINGS

Make a note of your meter readings for your electricity supply, water and gas (if applicable). Keep it somewhere safe.

HOW TO ...
