Occassionally it can be necessary to involve a trade organisation or even an Ombudsman if you can't see how to make headway wityh a proble.
Below are some of the most relevant ones. Make sure that before you contact them you have fully exhausted all other avenues. If your problem is with the developer, explain it carefully and provide them every opportunity to sort matters out for you.

THE CITIZEN'S ADVICE BUREAU
Offers free advice on a range of consumer issues including debt, housing, law and courts, benefits and much more.
THE LEGAL OMBUDSMAN
The Legal Ombudsman investigates complaints about the service you have
received from your legal service provider.
THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN
Is a free, impartial and independent service, resolving disputes between Consumers
and Property Agents
OMBUDSMAN SERVICES
This is an ombudsman service between the consumer and certain service providers.
FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN SERVICES
Settles disputes between the consumer and any organisation providing financial services.
